Vaccinations
Vaccinations protect your pet against serious — and sometimes fatal — infectious diseases. We offer full primary courses for puppies, kittens and young rabbits, as well as annual boosters to maintain ongoing protection.
Dogs
We vaccinate dogs against:
- Distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus and parainfluenza (DHP/Pi)
- Leptospirosis — a bacterial disease passed in rodent urine and contaminated water
- Kennel cough (optional, recommended for dogs that mix in groups, attend kennels or training classes)
Puppies start their primary course from around 8 weeks of age, with a second injection 2–4 weeks later. Annual boosters maintain protection thereafter.
Cats
We vaccinate cats against:
- Cat flu (feline herpesvirus and calicivirus) and enteritis (panleukopenia)
- Feline leukaemia virus (FeLV) — recommended for any cat with outdoor access
Kittens begin their primary course from 9 weeks, with a second injection 3–4 weeks later. Annual boosters follow.
Rabbits
Rabbits are vaccinated against myxomatosis and rabbit haemorrhagic disease (VHD/RHD types 1 and 2) — both serious viral diseases spread by biting insects, contact and the environment. A single annual vaccination provides combined protection.
Why annual boosters matter
Immunity from vaccines wanes over time. Annual boosters keep your pet protected and also include a full health examination — often the only routine vet visit a healthy adult pet has each year. Many catteries, kennels and pet insurers also require up-to-date vaccinations.
