Surgery
We perform a wide range of routine and more complex surgical procedures in our dedicated operating theatre, with the same attention to safety, pain relief and recovery for every patient.
Procedures we offer
- Soft tissue surgery — neutering, lump removals, wound repair, abdominal exploratory surgery, bladder surgery
- Orthopaedic surgery — many orthopaedic procedures can be carried out at the practice with the assistance of visiting specialists, allowing your pet to be treated in familiar surroundings
- Emergency surgery — when needed during opening hours
For more complex cases (advanced orthopaedics, neurosurgery, complex oncology) we work with referral centres to ensure your pet sees the right specialist.
Anaesthesia and safety
Modern veterinary anaesthesia is very safe, but we treat every anaesthetic with care. Each patient receives:
- A pre-anaesthetic clinical examination
- Pre-operative blood testing where appropriate (especially in older patients)
- An individual anaesthetic plan tailored to age, breed and condition
- Continuous monitoring throughout — heart rate, oxygen levels, blood pressure and temperature
- Active warming during surgery and recovery
- Pain relief before, during and after the procedure
Estimates and consent
Before any planned surgery we provide a written estimate and consent form, so you know what to expect. Our vets and nurses will talk you through the procedure, the risks, and post-operative care.
Aftercare
Most patients go home the same day with full written instructions, pain relief, and a follow-up appointment booked. We’re always available by phone if you have any concerns during recovery.
